시바스리갈 18년 미즈나라 캐스크 피니쉬

며칠전에 다녀온 도쿄에서 업어온 두 병 중 한 병,
시바스리갈 18년 미즈나라 캐스크 피니쉬.

미즈나라캐스크의 캐릭터가 항상 궁금했었는데, 도쿄 리쿼샵에선 그나마 흔한편이고 가격도 엔저를 등에 업고 한국대비 상당히 저렴하게 구매(현재 환율 고려해서 원화로 약8만원수준.) 할수 있기 때문에 애초에 한국에 들고올 리스트 두 병중 한병으로 일찍이 올려놨었다.

오피셜 라인업의 18년 숙성보다 3%높은 43도면서 일본의 물참나무를 간접적으로나마 느낄 수 있을 것이고 가격도 무려 10만원 이하면서 18년 이상의 숙성년수를 가진, 거기다 개인적으로 좋아하는 민트색감의 예쁜 라벨까지 갖춰진 위스키라 기대가 많이 된다.

살짝 아쉬운건 케이스없이 판매중이라 그게 살짝 아쉽....🫠

시바스리갈은 부모님세대에서는 꽤나 알려진 위스키 아닐까 싶다.
70년대 후반에 있었던 어떤 사건들에 등장 하기 때문이겠지.
아무래도 이 위스키는 혼자 까묵지말고 조만간 부모님 집 갈 때 가져가서 아부지랑 마셔봐야겠다.

One of the two bottles I carried back from Tokyo a few days ago:
Chivas Regal 18 Mizunara Cask Finish.

I'd always been curious about the character of mizunara casks, and in Tokyo liquor stores this one is fairly common, and riding the weak yen it can be bought for considerably less than in Korea (about 80,000 won at the current exchange rate), so I'd put it on the list early as one of the two bottles to bring back to Korea.

It's 43%, 3% higher than the 18-year-old in the official lineup, I'll get to taste Japanese oak (mizunara) at least indirectly, it's under 100,000 won with 18+ years of age, and on top of that it has a pretty mint-coloured label, which I personally love - so I'm really looking forward to it.

The one slight letdown is that it's sold without a case, which is a bit disappointing.... 🫠

I think Chivas Regal is a pretty well-known whisky among my parents' generation.
Probably because it shows up in certain events of the late 1970s.
I shouldn't polish this one off alone; I'll bring it when I visit my parents soon and drink it with my dad.
