글렌터렛 12년

우선 굉장히 맥캘란의 기운이 도는 위스키다.
맥캘란12년 셰리에서 느껴지는 기분좋은 셰리향이 진득히 퍼져나옴.
그동안 마셔본 여러 증류소들의 오피셜라인 엔트리 12년 숙성 제품중에 손꼽을만한 맛과 향이 담겨져있다.

개인적으로 싱글몰트 위스키를 처음 접하는 사람들에게 추천하는 목록으로 맥캘란 12년 셰리오크, 달모어 12년 셰리캐스크가 있는데 이제는 글렌터렛12년도 추천목록에 추가하고싶다.
그만큼 진지한 셰리 위스키의 자세를 갖추고 있다고 생각됨.

딱히 느껴지지 않는 부즈에 달콤한 건포도와 건과류의 향기가 은은하게 코를 채워주고,

혀에 닿을때도 상대적인 저숙성년수와 46.4도임에도 언뜻 튈 듯한 이런 요소들이 느껴지지 않을만큼 부드러운 텍스쳐로 맛있는 술임을 느끼게 해줌.

막 엄청 길고 깊게 피니쉬가 뽑히진 않지만 으레 잘만들어진 셰리 위스키들에서 날 법한 잘익은 베리류의 기운으로 마무리도 꽤 좋다.

올로로쏘 캐스크를 잘쓴 셰리 위스키들에서 나는 공통점들이 많이 느껴져서 만족감이 높다.

유명한 크리스탈 공예품 브렌드인 라리끄에서 디자인한 병도 일반적인 둥근 병에서 벗어나 개성있고 꽤나 멋들어져서 선물용으로도 아주 좋을 녀석.
(잔에 따를때 약간 어색어색하긴함😅)

오랜만에 다음이 궁금해지는 위스키였다.
15년 숙성도 구해서 마셔보고싶은.

데일리위스키가 다 떨어지던 찰나에 아주 좋은 선택이였음!

First off, this is a whisky with a strong Macallan air about it.
The lovely sherry aroma you get from Macallan 12 Sherry Oak spreads out rich and thick.
Among the official entry-level 12-year-olds I've tried from various distilleries, it holds flavours and aromas that rank right up there.

Personally, my list of recommendations for people new to single malt whisky includes Macallan 12 Sherry Oak and Dalmore 12 Sherry Cask, and now I want to add Glenturret 12 to that list.
That's how serious a sherry-whisky attitude I think it has.

Hardly any noticeable booze, with sweet raisins and dried fruits and nuts gently filling the nose,

and when it hits the tongue, despite its relatively young age and 46.4% ABV, the texture is so smooth that none of the elements that might otherwise stick out come through, and you can tell it's a tasty dram.

The finish isn't super long or deep, but it wraps up quite nicely with the ripe-berry vibe you'd typically get from a well-made sherry whisky.

I get a lot of the traits shared by sherry whiskies that make good use of oloroso casks, so I'm very satisfied.

The bottle, designed by the famous crystal brand Lalique, breaks away from the usual round bottle and is distinctive and pretty stylish, so it'd make a great gift too.
(Pouring it into a glass is a bit awkward-awkward though😅)

It's the first whisky in a while that made me curious about what comes next.
I want to hunt down the 15-year-old and try that too.

My daily whisky was just about running out, and this was a great pick!
One more experience under my belt!
